In a departure from prior seasons, I chose to host fewer events and focus on my own personal golf a bit more.

We we still had some great fun in the 4 events the fielding.
For our 2 main events, we had ~300 people enter for 44 spots; while we couldn’t have all interested golfers, we truly appreciated the entries!

 

  • The RDU Championship: held at Treyburn Country Club.
  • The RDU Masters: held at Woodlake Country Club.
  • 4-Team Ryder Cup: held at Aiken Golf Club and Old Barnwell.
  • The RDU Open: hosted at The Crossings Golf Club.

The RDU Championship:

32 golfers hosted at Treyburn Country Club.
An absolute treat of a course and some stiff competition from the field!

The RDU Masters:

Originally to be hosted at Bentwinds, an unfortunate incident occured during their annual course maintinance caused us to find a new venue.
Thankfully, Woodlake Country Club in Vass, NC stepped in and provided a competition level course and introduced many golfers to the new club that is poised to be something special!

4-Team Ryder Cup

We joined with 3 other NC-based golf communities and took to Aiken, South Carolina; the new mecca of golf.
A small field “competiton” that was more about gathering people and enjoying great company!

We competed at Aiken Golf Club, which is truly incredibly fun and Old Barnwell, which has rightfully been named as on of the US top 100 courses.

We also added more fun by playing the Old Barnwell Kids Course and The Chalkmine-9, which may be the most fun golf you can find!

The RDU Open

Not a competition at all, but an excuse to bring the golfers of the Triangle together!
We joined forces with other Triangle-based golf communities and raised money for the First Tee of the Triangle.

It was a brisk day, but we had an incredible time at The Crossings in Durham and had a fun time with multiple in-round games and a raffle after the event!
