What is Discord?

Discord is a free communication platform for communities which allows users to chat in real-time.
Historically, popular for gamers, communities of all types are leveraging the platform.
Discussion types can be split into different channels to let you tune in on specific types on conversations you’re interested in.
While it may look overwhelming at first, it’s very straight forward and easy to get a hang of!

What Type of Topics/Channels  are there?

We have a number of channels golf and non-golf related:

– General Golf
– General non-golf
– Tee Times: where golfers can link up for a round
– Event: where new events/gatherings are announced and discussed.
– Scorecards: where we share our good and bad rounds
– Course talk: where course input, conditions, and thoughts are shared
– Club Member Only: an area for members of clubs to have discussions related to interal topics
– Buy/Sell/Trade
– Sports Talk
– and more

Helpful hints:

– If you have any concerns or need help, don’t be shy to ask; I’m glad to help!
– Remember your username for future log-ins.
– You can turn on or off notifications for any channel/topic.
– RDUgolf Tour usually releases events, matches, and gatherings here first before any other platform.
– If you’re engaged, there’s a higher likilhood of being involved in future gatherings.
– If you’re a Canes fan, we often have game chats!
