Mid-Season Stats Update

It’s hard to believe that the season is more than halfway over!
I’m a numbers nerd and I love some stats, so enjoy!

So far, 213 different golfers have registered for events.
This already surpasses the 2021 total of 156 golfers

Congrats to Kurt Hayward and John Gagliano for being 1st in the Net and Gross leaderboards.

With 2 majors, 4 regular season, and 1 championship event left, the league title is still anyone’s game!

The RDU Masters

at Bentwinds Country Club

The 2nd Major of the year has been lovingly dubbed The RDU Masters

Bentwinds Country Club provides incredibly plush conditions, an enjoyable layout which requires forethought and execution, and a field of golfers trying to make a splash and claim the coveted Green Polo!

Golfers Profile

This “Golfers Profile” series will dig deeper into a community member each newsletter!

Scott VanderMeer

Directors Notes:
Scott may be noticeable as the 7′ blond at every event, but his personality and heart are the biggest things about him.
Since day-1 of the Tour, Scott has been a huge part of our community and is one of the most approachable people! Although Scott is newer to golf, as a former professional athlete he has found enjoyment in putting in the work and growing his game while never settling!

About Scott:

Standard Stuff:

Scott Vander Meer, 36 years old. 12.5 handicap.
Best score: 82 (29 in mini-golf though!)

Dream Golf Trip & Dream Golf Group:

For me, it is not really about the golf course, but the people I am with and how much fun we’re having! Pebble Beach and Augusta look fun.

Tiger, Phil, Michael Jordan. Chalres Barkley would be hilarious too

Who They Are:

I am someone that knows how to be serious when it’s business time, but knows how to let loose when it’s time for fun; My employees know me as “Mr Serious”, but friends me as a huge jokester.
While playing collegiate basketball, I obtained by business degree in 3 years and a 4-year MBA in 1.5 at University of Illinois – Chicago.
After graduating, I started a VC firm investing in healthcare companies; starting with $0 and growing it to $10million in profits in 4 years.
I did all of that while playing Pro Basketball for 5 years in 10 countries, winning 5 league championships .
I now build different type of Cancer companies with my Privat Equity firm Infusion 51a (
My goal is to run a billion dollar investment fund!

My Golf Story:

Golf used to be a 3-5x a year event just used to spend bonding time with my dad back in Chicago. I hated golf, but enjoyed time with my father.
After my pro basketball career ended, I became addicted to work and gained 150 lbs; so when relocating from Chicago to North Carolina3 years ago I  decided to regain an active lifestyle; part of that being golf.
Stepping into the game got me addicted and now I won’t stop until I’m the best golfer I can be. (director note: A true competitive athlete right here!)
